Never leave home again

Life is always better when my Daddy is home. The sun shines, the birds sing, the grass grows…

Just as he promised, Daddy came to see me straight from the airport Tuesday night. I couldn’t get close enough to him. We had a major love fest!

Yesterday was a great day, too; Mommy and I had an awesome ride. We did mostly flatwork, but I got to jump a little bit over some smaller jumps, and I behaved perfectly! I even got a nice, even seven strides inside a six-stride line.

Weeee!

Weeee!

Mommy only wanted me to jump a little bit, and then we did some more flatwork. She wants to make sure that I have enough time for my joints to recover from all the hard work we’ve been doing! (Remember what I told you about DJD?)

Today, I spent most of the day chilling and relaxing. I ate a lot of grass…

Yum!

Yum!

I took a nap in the sunshine…

Ahhh… Now this is the life.

And then Daddy and Uncle Rob came over to say hi and spend time with me while I napped!

Hi, Uncle Rob!

Hi, Uncle Rob!

But then Mommy came by, and I knew it was time to get up and go to work!

Here we go!

Here we go!

Mommy decided to ride me in the bitless bridle today, and I was a perfect gentleman. We had a really great ride! We did lots of flying lead changes, collecting and extending, and I even got to gallop a couple times!

Whew, this is hard work!

Whew, this is hard work!

It was so warm when we finished – and I was so sweaty – that Mommy and Daddy gave me a shower! Mommy took me around and let me eat more grass while I dried off in the sunshine. I was almost completely dry in about fifteen minutes, so Mommy put me in my stall and gave me my dinner hay.

All in all, it was a really great day. I’m so glad that my Daddy is back! I hope he never goes away again.

Well, friends, that’s all I have to tell you for today. Tomorrow, I get the day off, since I’ve worked four days in a row now. But I have some great stories to tell you… So I’ll catch y’all tomorrow!
