Riding with Daddy

Well, I have good news and I have bad news.

The bad news is that my Mommy is sick again, so she didn’t come to the barn with Daddy this morning… which means I don’t get to see her at all today. That makes me sad. I miss her already, and I know she probably misses me, too. I mean, I am her baby, after all.

The good news is that my Daddy rode me yesterday! We had an awesome ride, too.

Yep, that's my Daddy and me!

After we warmed up at the walk, trot and canter, we did a couple flying lead changes. I had a little trouble with my lead changes going from right to left – that’s always been the more difficult direction for me – but we worked on it and eventually figured it out together.

After we finished working on the flat, Daddy even said we could jump a little bit! We started out with a small cross rail to warm up, and then moved on to a small vertical. It’s been months since Daddy and I have jumped together, so we didn’t do too much. We just wanted to have a little fun together… and we sure did!

It was a great day. Daddy said he is going to work with me again today since Mommy is at home, sick. I don’t know if he’s going to ride me or if I’ll have to work on the long lines… but I’ll let you know, either way.

Friends, if you would, just keep your hooves crossed for me that I’ll at least get to see my Mommy tomorrow, even if she’s still too sick to ride me. I miss her!

Alright, I’m going to go and see what Leo is up to… Catch y’all later!
