Like it’s nothin’

Well, it turns out that my high jump record really isn’t all that high. I mean, it was high when I first did it… but now it’s just another jump.

And yes, that does mean that I got to jump again today!

Yesterday, Daddy changed the “course” around in the arena for me, and I couldn’t hardly wait to jump! I guess Mommy felt the same way, because as soon as we finished warming up, we got right to it. Daddy came out to be our jump crew and take photos and videos. We warmed up over a little cross-rail-oxer; Daddy raised it up gradually after we jumped it once in each direction.

By the time he had the warm-up jump to about 3 feet and 3 inches high, we were ready to jump the new line that he had set for us. It was a bounce (a line with no strides in between), to a one-stride, to a two-stride, the highest jump being about 3 feet and 6 inches. It wasn’t exactly easy, but it was a lot of fun!

Jumping the line!

After we did the line perfectly, Daddy raised up the warm-up oxer so that it was no longer at a warm-up height. Mommy and I jumped it without even knowing how high it was. It really didn’t seem all that high! After we were finished, Daddy grabbed the measuring tape and told us that it was 4 feet and 6 inches! That’s the same height as our record high jump! And we jumped it like it was nothing!

4'6... Like it's nothin'

Mommy said that we might get to try for another record high jump next week. I can’t wait to show her what I can do! But for now, I need to get some sleep. Even though it’s a piece of cake to jump that height now, it still takes a lot out of me; I’m exhausted! Stay warm, friends. I’ll catch y’all tomorrow!
