I love Jumping Day!

So, remember in my post yesterday, when I said I thought my Mommy was going to let me jump today?

Well, she did! We had so much fun, even though the jumping exercise we did was kind of difficult. You may not have realized this, but you already saw the exercise I jumped when you watched the video I posted this morning – you know, the one where I did flying lead changes in between a line of jumps?

Well, we started by doing a little bounce (two jumps without a stride in the middle), to a one-stride line, to another one-stride line.

That's me landing off the bounce, coming into the one-stride line.

That’s me landing off the bounce, coming into the one-stride line.

Each time I completed the exercise successfully, my Daddy would raise up the last two jumps for me and I would do it again. Once the last two jumps were about three feet high, my Mommy asked my Daddy to take away the first little bounce, so it would only be two one-stride lines.

Because I’m much stronger on my right lead, I didn’t have any problems while we were tracking right. So, after we had done the exercise to the right a few times without error, my Mommy asked me to go the other direction and jump it from my left lead. That was a little more difficult, especially because the jumps were set closer together than a normal one-stride.

That's me jumping the oxer at about three feet high.

We kept trying until I was able to complete the exercise successfully to the left as well… and then I got to gallop down the long side of the arena! It was SO MUCH FUN! I love to gallop!

All in all, it was a fantastic day. I did my best, and both my Mommy and Daddy said they were proud of me for it. I don’t think I even need a day off tomorrow. In fact, I hope I get to work tomorrow, because if I do, that might mean that I’ll get to jump again on Tuesday! I sure hope so. It’s been way too long since I’ve jumped… so I have a lot to make up for!

Alright, it’s time for me to go and eat my dinner grain. I’ll catch y’all tomorrow!
