Wow, why is it so bright out here?!

Oh, wait… it’s because the SUN is shining for the first time in WEEKS!

Okay, maybe it hasn’t actually been weeks, but it sure seems like it! I was so excited when I saw that the sun was out, because not only did it mean that I didn’t have to wear my blanket all day, I just knew it meant that my Daddy was going to ride me today!

But alas, I was wrong. For whatever reasons he had, my Daddy decided to long line me again today. I tried to show him my displeasure by being really lazy, but he didn’t get the message. He just kept clucking and kissing and urging me on, so I decided that I needed to take a little more drastic action.

So, I bucked.

Yup, I bucked...

 Yup, I bucked…

And I bucked…

...and then I bucked some more.

…and then I bucked some more.

After a while, I got tired of bucking – but I thought that my Daddy had gotten the message by that time.

As he was grooming me, he said, “I’m sorry, Icchy. I know you miss your Mommy. I’ll ride you tomorrow, because I know that’s really what you want. I hope you forgive me for long lining you today.”

And of course I do forgive him, because after all, he is my Daddy. And I know that long lining is better than not working at all!

Anyway, I got to stay in for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Even though the sun was out all day, the paddocks are still pretty disgusting and muddy, and my Daddy still doesn’t want me to go out in them for too long. He definitely knows best when it comes to the footing and the paddocks; he would never put me or any of my friends in a dangerous situation! He’s the best. So, I got to eat hay in my stall and hang out with him while he finished up his work.

I’m really looking forward to our ride tomorrow. I can’t wait to tell you all about it! Oh, and Mommy, if you’re reading this – I miss you, and I hope you come home soon.

Catch y’all later!
