A white day-after-Christmas

Friends, I’m sorry I didn’t write yesterday. The truth is, I was just too cold to write! Do you want to know why? Because yesterday, for the first time since I’ve been living in Tennessee, it actually snowed! I think it was a day late, because my Daddy came down to the barn singing a song that went, “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas…” But, of course, Christmas had already passed, so really it was a white day-after-Christmas. Maybe they can make that into a new human holiday!?

Since it was snowing, I didn’t get to do any work. But that was okay with me, because the air was so cold that it hurt my lungs to take in a deep breath. Daddy even said that it was “literally freezing out,” and knowing Mommy with all of her rules, I’m sure she told Daddy that “freezing” is too cold for me to work. Or maybe Daddy came up with that rule on his own. Either way, I’m glad that he did, because it was too cold to work. Leo and I enjoyed opening our mouths and trying to catch some snow on our tongues, but it didn’t work. The snow ended up on our noses, instead. We had our warm blankets on, and Daddy brought us some hay to the shelters – probably so it wouldn’t get covered in snow.

The funny thing is, the snow didn’t really make everything white. It just made everything cold and wet.

Well, I don’t know if I will get to work today, but my Daddy said that Mommy will be home late tonight. I’m excited to see her. I think Daddy is, too.

So, Mommy, if you’re reading this, get home safe! And here’s a picture that Daddy and I took for you this morning! Be sure to come down to the barn and say hi to me when you get here, or else I’ll be very sad. See you soon!

Kisses for Mommy!
